Dark wood cabinetry and an odd curved island had these Southern California homeowners searching Houzz for a local designer to help. They found Lea Biermann, who straightened things out and brightened up the space with a palette of creamy white and light gray. Wood accents around the range, a handmade tile backsplash, concrete pendant lights and French oak engineered wood flooring add coziness to the modern room.
